Walden: Petrichor
Saturday, July 2, 2022, 2:00–9:00 pm
Künstlerhof Frohnau, Hubertusweg 60, 13465 Berlin
Free admission, open air, please bring a picnic blanket.
A one-day performance festival at Künstlerhof Frohnau, curated by SHIN Hyo Jin and Oscar Otto Hernandez Ruiz. In the second edition of the Walden series, the forest surrounding Künstlerhof Frohnau once again becomes a space for sound, encounter, and performance, hosting a series of performances, readings, and concerts. Künstlerhof Frohnau is located at the northernmost edge of Berlin, a wooded site whose scattered buildings have housed the sick, people with addictions, refugees since the 1920s, and for more than 20 years now a wide range of artists. At this special place between nature and culture, city and periphery, history and present, visitors are invited to engage in an intensive inner journey, inspired by the performances: air and breathing, taking pauses, slowing down, becoming aware of the body. Coming together, listening to and hearing history or histories, experiencing and imagining spaces of freedom. The scent of rain on dry forest soil: petrichor.
