Meline Saoirse & Paolo Lolicata

From autumn 2024 to spring 2025, Meline Saoirse (France/Portugal) and Paolo Lolicata (Sicily/Italy) were artists in residence as a duo at Künstlerhof Frohnau within the framework of the EU program Culture Moves Europe and the Goethe-Institut.
Under the title SYMBIOSIS, they researched forms of symbiotic artistic practice in a European context. Central to their work was an engagement with local history, collective trauma, and the natural and cultural heritage of rural spaces. Through a ritual and process-oriented approach, they combined improvisation, archival research, poetry, philosophy, and mythology, developing new perspectives on the relationship between nature and humans.
During their residency, they explored the historical layers of Künstlerhof Frohnau and the surrounding forest and presented their findings during the Open Studios in spring 2025.
