Anastasia Kolas

Artist in Residence, July and August 2026

Anastasia Kolas is an interdisciplinary artist based in Berlin, exploring what she calls “aesthetics of disappointment”, or the homogenizing forces of globalized modernity as related to notions of comfort, belonging and personal aspiration, she frequently incorporates inherited and found materials into her work. While at KHF Anastasia Kolas will work on post-production of a new film project addressing the emotional lives of archives, incorporating Belarusfilm documentaries made by her grandmother, Soviet Belarusian director, Elena Kolas. 

 

Kolas is the 2026/2027 research fellow at the inherit.heritage, the Centre for Advanced Study at Humboldt University.
