The Ukrainian artists Vlada Ralko and Volodymyr Budnikov are currently living and working as artists in residence at Künstlerhof Frohnau. Both are among the formative figures of contemporary art in Ukraine and are known for their intense engagement with social, political, and existential questions.

Vlada Ralko works primarily with drawing and painting, through which she explores the body, identity, and vulnerability in an expressive visual language. Her works are characterized by radical openness and a sharp sensitivity to the political dimensions of the intimate.

Volodymyr Budnikov combines painting, graphic art, and installation in his work. His artistic practice oscillates between formal reduction and experimental image processes, in which he addresses questions of memory, destruction, and transformation.

Together, they are developing new projects in Frohnau that reflect the current situation in Ukraine while also addressing universal themes of loss, resilience, and artistic responsibility.
