Hanna Sokur & Tatsiana Antonava

Hanna+Tatsiana

From February to April 2025, Hanna Sokur and Tatsiana Antonava were guest artists at Künstlerhof Frohnau. Both are from Belarus, now living in Georgia, and work in the fields of dance and performance.

Originally, they had applied for the residency independently of one another with different project ideas. During their stay, however, they decided to search for common ground – or rather, a shared curtain. This transparent curtain became the object they play with, work through, and use to pose questions.

A curtain can be many things: a memory of the Iron Curtain, a thin fabric in a train separating two strangers, a border, a prison wall, or a connection to childhood memories. It can divide life into a before and an after. It can be light or heavy, permeable or impenetrable. Hanna and Tatsiana use it as an image to make conventions visible and to explore movements between separation and encounter.
